Florence Reisenfeld
“Nature
with all its wonderful elements is the inspiration for my work. The ebb and flow
of the seasons, changing colors, shapes and forms all provide a rich format to
expand upon. My use of color, which has become my “trademark”, is a very
personal expression of my experience. Whether I use watercolor, oil, acrylic or
pastel, the work develops spontaneously, usually without a preconceived plan.”
“I
hold a Masters Degree of Art in Painting from Kent State University and a
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art. I have been
guest lecturer, have given slide shows of my work, and have demonstrated
painting techniques to various groups. For many years I taught painting at Kent
State University, at the Jewish Community Center, and in my own studio.”
“I develop atmosphere and luminosity through rich color and rhythmic forms. My paintings have been described as “having a spontaneous glow”, “magical illusion of implied detail”, and “radiance”
“I start with abstract washes layered over each other which continue to develop as the painting dictates. Often the end result will be abstract...at other times it may turn into a more identifiable interpretation of nature.”
